Balcony glass railing on a modern house front
A glass balcony railing keeps the view open from inside and makes the front of the house look lighter. Most balconies use 12 mm toughened or laminated glass in a stainless base channel, or glass panels between steel posts where the budget is tighter.
- Frameless base channel: the cleanest look, glass only
- Steel post and clamp: more economical, still mostly glass
- Top handrail: recommended on higher floors and where children play
