V grooving cuts clean V shaped lines into the surface of glass, which catch the light and read as bright engraved borders. Glass Gallery India does V grooving in Pathankot for doors, partitions, wardrobes and mirrors.

01

Where does V grooving look best?

  • Border lines on main door glass and fanlights
  • Geometric patterns on partition and wardrobe panels
  • Frame lines on mirrors as a subtle alternative to bevelling
  • Combination work with etching for traditional Indian door designs
02

How is a groove different from etching?

Etching frosts the surface. A V groove removes a precise channel of glass, so the line stays transparent and sparkles as the light moves. The two are often combined: frosted fields with grooved outlines.

V groove glass designs for wardrobes, doors and partitions

V-grooving cuts a polished, angled line into the face of the glass. The line catches light from the side, which is why grooved wardrobe shutters and partitions look sharp at night under room lights. Straight lines, grids, borders and simple geometric patterns work best.

  • Wardrobe and kitchen shutters with grooved grids or borders
  • Main door side panels with vertical or diagonal lines
  • Office partitions with grooved privacy bands
  • Mirrors with grooved frames instead of a wooden frame

Combine grooving with etching for a frosted background behind the lines.

Common questions

V-Grooving: questions people ask us

Can grooved glass be toughened?

Yes. Grooving happens before tempering. Tell us the panel’s final use at the quoting stage and we sequence the work correctly.

Which glass thickness works best for V grooving?

We recommend 5mm and above, with 8mm to 12mm giving the sharpest, deepest grooves. Thinner glass limits how deep the groove can be cut without weakening the sheet.

Where is V grooved glass normally used?

Main door glass, wardrobe shutters, wall mirrors and partition panels. The grooved lines catch light and give a premium cut-glass look at a much lower cost than fully bevelled designs.

Is V-groove glass expensive?

It is priced by running length of groove and the glass thickness. A simple border costs much less than a dense pattern. Send the design or a photo for a rate.
